Well, the event of the year for us, Chilliwack May 2010, has come and gone and we, along with everyone else, are suffering from post-Chilliwack depression. Even though the weather was less than ideal, we had an awesome time.
The rain seemed to bring the level of flying intensity down a notch and we all were able to spend more time catching up and shooting the breeze with our friends, old and new.
Thank you again to Ron and the Fraser Valley RC Flyers for hosting another successful event. I know you say it’s the people that come who make the event, but without you guys, the event wouldn’t be there.
It was great to meet some new people from far away places. Of course, Mike, Trevor & Mary who flew in from Britain and with that garnered the furthest travelled award. Also new from a far away place, were Joy & Bruce from Montana – it was great to meet you. It sure looked like you had a great time too despite the weather.
We certainly enjoyed getting together with the ‘regulars’ we see each year as well some other new comers. We won’t name names in fears of missing someone, but we know whether near or far, everyone puts in a huge effort to travel to Chilliwack.
It makes it such a great event for us. We are already counting down to next May when we can do it all over again. This year, 2010, was our 7th year of attending and it just keeps getting better.
We hope you enjoy the pictures of the event. Beverly was exhausted by the end of Sunday, having captured most of the shots in that last day. Sunday’s weather made up for the rest of the weekend; the conditions were superb.
There was so much activity; it was difficult to get it all in. If we missed something or someone, there’s always next year. We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2011.
